First Baptist Church of Byram Leadership
First Baptist Church of Byram is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Phillip Evans
Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care
Phillip considers it a true blessing to be serve as Associate Pastor here at First Baptist Church of Byram. He has lived in the Byram community since 1980, when his family moved here from South Jackson. He graduated from Byram Attendance Center and attended Hinds Community College. He married his wonderful wife Emma in 1991 and they have four children; Grant, Amy, Alison and Greg.
He served the community for 15 years on the volunteer fire department. He served as an RA teacher, adult Sunday School teacher and a deacon all here at FBC Byram. He knows without a shadow of a doubt that God used each of those experiences to prepare him for his call to the ministry. He surrendered to the ministry January 24th, 2010. After serving as pulpit supply for two years he was called as pastor to Eastside Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. After serving there for five years, God called them back here to FBC Byram. He has spent a lot of time, some 38 plus years, here among this congregation, and believes you will not find a church more loving and caring than this one.
"I challenge you to come and see for yourself. I know that God will surely bless you here as He has me and my family for so many years."

Leslie Warren

Leslie is a native of Carrollton, MS and a proud graduate of The University of Mississippi. While in school at Ole Miss, she discovered her passion for working with children and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After college, she taught elementary school in her hometown during the year. Each summer she taught children about missions at Camp Garaywa in Clinton. It was during her time at Garaywa that God really began to shape her heart and gave her the desire to not just educate children academically but share the love of Christ with them as well. She began searching for opportunities that would combine her love of ministry and education. Finally, after seven years of teaching elementary and preschool, she stepped out of the classroom and into the role of director of the daycare/preschool ministry at a church outside of Jackson. She served there for the next five years until she became the Kindergarten/Daycare director at FBC Byram in 2016. Leslie and her husband Chris, currently live near Wesson, MS with their son, Fisher.
